A Radiohead Project Posted on October 23rd, 2008 by

This past Wednesday, October 22nd, A Radiohead Project played at Gustavus in the Dive. A Radiohead Project is
six member band that performs a mixture of original and traditional interpretations of Radiohead’s music. I found this interesting: the band was entirely formed through listings on Craigslist. They played about a two hour set that included some of the more popular as well as less heard of Radiohead tracks.

The Dive worked pretty well as a venue for this event. The band played on the dance floor, while the 100 or so audience members sat in the comfortable chairs that surrounded the floor. I thought the band did a pretty good job at matching some of Radioheads songs. They were not quite as polished, but they were fun to listen to. The bassist was an entertaining character to watch, and really got into the music.

A Radiohead Project seemed especially happy to be playing at Gustavus. They were enthusiastic about their music, and happy to entertain Gusties. The Campus Activities Board (CAB) brought this band to campus, and I am happy that CAB continues to bring interesting performances to Gustavus.
