The student produced Gustavus newspaper, The Weekly, was originally founded in 1891. Quite a history. I have very much enjoyed reading The Weekly during my four years at Gustavus. They accurately report on Campus events, politics, sports, and an assortment of other topics.
I especially appreciate that all Weekly articles are written by students. This gives the articles a special relevance and appeal to students. Writing for the Weekly is a paid position, and students dedicate significant time to the production of the newspaper.
The editorial section is always interesting to read in The Weekly. Many heated opinions are exchanged in this section, usually in a respectful manner. It is a great avenue to exchange meaningful ideas with other Gusties.
The Weekly is published and distributed around campus once a week on Fridays. I always look forward to reading the most recent issue. The Weekly is a great organization on campus to become involved in. Be sure to check out the online Weekly articles here.
