Waiting for letters Posted on December 10th, 2010 by

Don't worry we won't flood your house with thousands of letters a la Hogwarts :) A cute fluffy owl delivery those letters to students would be fun though!

It’s that time of year for high school seniors all around the country: their applications and letters of recommendation have been sent out to to their favorite colleges. Now it’s time to wait for those letters to arrive. I remember going to the mailbox everyday eagerly waiting to hear back from the schools I had applied to my senior year. I couldn’t wait to hear what my future after high school could hold but I wouldn’t know for sure until those letters were in my hand. It can be a really stressful feeling not knowing right away after the application is sent, but you have to realize that the admission counselors work tirelessly poring over thousands of applications all year. It’s a long process but it’s really exciting for the admission office here when we get to package up all of the letters of acceptance. After those are sent out it’s our turn to wait and hear back from the students who want to be Gusties! And for students who aren’t sure right away don’t worry, you don’t have to commit to anything until the spring! That way you can get a chance to visit campus again, or for the first time and meet with students, professors and admission counselors who will hopefully be able to help you figure out if Gustavus is the right place for you to be :)
