Discover Gustavus Posted on January 16th, 2011 by

Yet again comes the busy busy Discover Gustavus event day. With numerous students visiting campus today, we as tour guides hope to show perspective students like you just how great Gustavus is!
For those of you who have yet to come see our beautiful campus, I will give you a quick synopsis of what a visit would be like. You will meet with our great admissions counselors based on where you live, and they will help to give you knowledge on all the details you wish to hear about Gustavus. Then after your meeting with counselors, professors, coaches, music directors, or whomever you wish to converse with, a private tour will follow. This was personally my favorite part of college visits, as I went to many schools, because I loved to hear what school life was like from an actual student.
Back to the visit day! These Discover Gustavus days are different than a private visit on a normal day, but the visits are just as interesting. As I give tours today to many high school students, I think back to where I was just a year ago in my college search. I will depart with one piece of advice: no matter how discouraged, annoyed, or bored you may become with the multiple visits your mother may drag you on, try to pay attention on those visits! In a few short months you will ultimately have to make a decision on where you want to go, and the only way to have made the best decision, is by paying attention!
