One of the great resources that Gustavus offers to all of its students is a staff of dedicated tutors. Most academic departments have a tutor that help students with homework assignments, papers, and test preparation. Tutors are a valuable resource in that they are students themselves who understand the questions a peer may ask.
I myself am tutoring for the biology department this fall. I tutor for a class titled Evolution, Ecology, and Behavior. My experience both as a tutor and a student getting help has been rewarding and beneficial with my academic work.
Gustavus also offers a Writing Center, which is an office that welcomes students who want to have a knowledgeable person help improve upon a paper they are writing. The staff of the writing center are talented individuals who work with students, one on one, to formulate the best paper possible.
All of these student services are free, and are a wonderful resource to help all students have a successful academic experience.
