Visiting Gustavus Posted on October 17th, 2008 by

Perhaps ones final choice on where to attend college is most influenced by a college visit.  That was certainly the case for me.  I felt immediately at home at Gustavus.  I remember walking around campus and being especially impressed by the layout of buildings and the Jackson Campus Center.

The Gustavus Admissions Office recently hosted the event Explore Gustavus.  On October 16 and 17, Juniors and Seniors in high school were encouraged to attend campus for an open house style event.  Students could arrive at any time, and attend information sessions, meet students, and tour the campus.  Big event days are a good way to get an initial glimpse of life at Gustavus.

Additionally, setting up an individual appointment with the Admissions Office is a fantastic way to get to know Gustavus.  Prospective students can receive meaningful one on one attention with Admissions counselors, attend a college class, and even spend a night in a college dorm.

I think campus visits are really the best way to learn about an institution.  I encourage all students interested in Gustavus to consider visiting the campus, and I am confident you will be more informed about the special college experience at Gustavus.
