HOW TO GUSTIE

  • PACKING LIST: Communal bathrooms call for shower shoes!
  • GUSTIE LINGO: The Lib: noun,The Folke Bernadotte Memorial Library is a popular study spot for all study styles. Each floor has a different volume level, with the basement being the loudest and the third floor being the quietest.
  • UNSPOKEN RULE: The stretch of sidewalk from Pittman Hall to Uhler Hall is called Hello Walk. Greet your fellow students when you pass them—Gusties have been doing it for 100 years.
  • CAF CREATION: Swing by the salad bar and you’ll find a whole section of spices and sauces—mild to hot—to take your meal up a notch. Ever sprinkled Lawry’s Seasoned Salt on your fries?
  • ACRONYM DEFINED: The Center for International and Cultural Education, our hub for study away and intercultural activities, is often called the CICE.

AROUND RING ROAD

  • LOCAL GEM: In downtown Saint Peter you’ll find one of the oldest Scandinavian import shops in the U.S. Founded by a Gustie alum in 1962, Swedish Kontur has authentic Swedish apparel, jewelry, home decor, gifts, and more, including cookies and candy.
  • SECRET SPOT: Check out our new Esports headquarters on the third floor of Beck Academic Hall! Complete with new gaming rigs and chairs, it’s home to our four teams competing in Super Smash Bros, Overwatch, League of Legends, and Valorant.
  • INSTAGRAM: Summer nights on the Hill can’t be beat! Check out this aerial view of your new home.
