HOW TO GUSTIE
- PACKING LIST: To save space, opt for a laundry bag instead of a big hamper.
- GUSTIE LINGO: Gustie Ware: noun, the microwavable, reusable, and returnable food containers found in the Caf that are a sustainable to-go option. Not to be confused with Gustie Gear, which is Gustavus apparel.
- UNSPOKEN RULE: In the Caf, most people set their stuff down at a table before grabbing a bite to eat. In a community like ours, you don’t have to worry about leaving your belongings!
- CAF CREATION: Stop by the bakery in the Caf every now and then to hunt down a Frost-Your-Own—a Gustavus tradition where students self-load a sugar cookie with frosting and sprinkles. The DIY approach allows you to customize your cookie to your perfect frosting-to-sprinkles-to-cookie ratio.
- ACRONYM DEFINED: The Pan-African Student Organization is often referred to as PASO.
AROUND RING ROAD
- LOCAL GEM: Owned by a Gustavus professor/rapper/DJ/artist, check out Aesthetic Religion Records & Texts in downtown Saint Peter to comb through an eclectic mix of vinyl—reggae, hip hop, jazz, country, soul…
- SECRET SPOT: Head out to the southwest corner of the Arboretum to see the bison sculpture in the Coneflower Prairie.
- INSTAGRAM: Gusties took over Target Field! Check out this video recap of Gustavus Night at the Twins.
