HOW TO GUSTIE

  • PACKING LIST: Instead of fumbling to carry shampoo, conditioner, and body wash bottles to the bathroom, try a shower caddy to transport your shower essentials.
  • GUSTIE LINGO: Ring Road: noun, the road that wraps all the way around campus. Watch out for the speed bumps!
  • UNSPOKEN RULE: To keep track of your keys and ID, lots of students use a lanyard — but you’ll rarely see Gusties wearing the lanyard around their necks.
  • CAF CREATION: Beyond grabbing a delicious and nutritious salad, the salad bar doubles as the ultimate customization station. Whether you’re looking to add sour cream and cheese to your baked potato or you want to amp up your wrap with some Caesar dressing and cucumbers, make your way over to the back corner of the caf.
  • ACRONYM DEFINED: The Diversity Leadership Council, a student-run group of representatives, is often referred to as DLC.

AROUND RING ROAD

  • LOCAL GEM: Paddlefish Brewing Co. is a Gustie-owned brewery serving up kombucha, mocktails, and beer (for the “of age” audience). Stop by on a Wednesday with friends for trivia!
  • SECRET SPOT: Located on the northwest corner of campus, you’ll find the Drenttel Golf Facility, featuring three heated hitting bays, a putting green, and a golf simulator.
  • INSTAGRAM: Gusties go everywhere! Ethan Moudry ’25 spent his spring semester abroad in Almaty, Kazakhstan. See what his experience was like.
