Gustie Gear-Up! | June 18, 20, or 21 |
|
Mark your calendars. Gustie Gear-Up! is a half-day summer orientation where you’ll receive, review, and adjust your class schedule with an academic advisor, meet classmates, and complete necessary paperwork before starting in the fall.
Students who do not attend Gustie Gear-Up! will receive an email (sent to their Gustavus email) in late June with instructions on how to access and review their class schedule. That email will also include information about an optional opportunity in July to virtually review and adjust their schedule with a Gustavus advisor. |
- DORM PACKING LIST: Bring a fan! Any kind!
- GUSTIE LINGO: Three Flags: noun, the common meeting spot just outside Campus Center where the American, Minnesota, and Gustavus flags fly. (Not to be confused with the less-invoked three flags outside Lund Center).
- UNSPOKEN RULE: Gusties are known for—or maybe notorious for—holding doors open for people, especially for strangers, and especially if they’re 30 yards away. We’re nice that way!
- CAF CREATION: Take two chicken tenders from the grill line to the sandwich station and make yourself a killer crispy chicken wrap!
- ACRONYM DEFINED: The Center for Inclusive Excellence is often referred to as the CIE.
AROUND RING ROAD
- LOCAL GEM: Ever heard of buff chips? It’s a must-try french fry/potato chip hybrid that can be found at a Gustie favorite, Patrick’s on Third in Saint Peter. “Buff” stands for Buffalo seasoning, which refers to the city in New York, not the animal.
- SECRET SPOT: Gustavus has a tunnel system that’s not open to the public. Seniors get to tour it right before commencement.
- INSTAGRAM: See what campus looks like on a beautiful spring day!
